Casa Cupido

A white villa nestled in an expansive olive grove near Ostuni. A dream come true for a weekend, a longer holiday, or a simple getaway promising peace and quiet, quintessential Italy, and demure luxury. Elisabeth Hanser is the founder and CEO of MIND-SET, an events agency, and as such she’s used to finding unique places – and does so as a consummate professional with a keen eye for details which will make her clients swoon. Her locations are small, refined hideaways where guests will immediately feel at home without ever losing that feeling of wonder of stepping into a new place, a whole new universe waiting to be discovered. It’s hardly surprising to see why the Casa Cupido estate is as magical as it is, considering Hanser, originally from Austria, was the one who found it after long, painstaking research. She struck gold – a place which was secluded yet easy to reach, intimate but not standoffish, luxurious without being snobbish. Casa Cupido is a private villa in Apulia which was completed in the summer of 2023. It’s been open to guests since summer 2024. Nestled in an expansive olive grove, it’s five kilometres from Ostuni and fifteen kilometres from the nearest beach. It redefines the concept of the typical Apulian farmstead – called masseria – being true to its roots, with traditional vaulted ceilings and high-quality furniture sourced from select craftspeople interpreted in a modern style. It boasts a south-facing inner courtyard and chic lounge with an open fireplace as well as white-washed walls and plenty of timber. The rooms are peppered with local ceramics and contemporary art. Guests will have the entire villa at their disposal, which sleeps up to 6 people across three spacious ensuite bedrooms, an airy living area, elegant dining area, a pergola wrapped in the cooling shade of the villa, outdoor kitchen with a bar and large dining table, and an infinity pool. The Casa Cupido Team will clean the Villa once a week – unless guests require daily cleaning – and fill the fridge with local delicacies, provide amazing local tips or organise private tours. The team can take care of everything, from massages, airport shuttle, and an excellent selection of wines. Guests can also treat themselves to a mouthwatering Apulian dinner prepared by Chef Angelo. Elisabeth Hanser and the Casa Cupido has brought a touch of urban lifestyle to this mesmerising pocket of southern Italy. Chich enough to matter, but not too much to be cloying. Simple, stylish, and cosy.

  • Ibiza meets Ostuni: rustic elements, light sandstone and tall vaulted ceilings meet fringed lamp shades, crochet sun umbrellas, and laid-back bohemian vibes. Floorboards are rare in Apulia, and that’s exactly what makes Casa Cupido so charming!
  • Ostuni, the white city: this city perched on a hill, home to 30,000 people, can be seen from afar as it glitters in the sunlight. The spacious Piazza della Libertà, the imposing cathedral and the warren of cobblestone alleys of the historical city centre are certainly evocative – and the robust city walls offer a scenic view over the land all the way to the Adriatic Sea.
